Sometimes It Is Not Fun
A better life - or a few more hours sleep?
You must decide for yourself.
The Immediate - is a deceptive taskmaster.
The Immediate - frequently offers one time distractions that feel much better than long term goals.
If you give in to all distractions you will not succeed.
Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.
How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?
Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.
Proverbs 6: 6-11
Yet we also want a life - must we plan our life as carefully as our business so as to avoid distraction?
"Do something every day that you don't want to do; this is the golden rule for acquiring the habit of doing your duty without pain." - Mark Twain
Mark Twain just gave us directions, let's make it a rule set:
- wake up earlier
- talk to the person you want to avoid
- do the task you least want to do
This simple task set will help remove some self created obstacles.
Sometimes it is this simple.
Successful people consistently do those things that failures avoid.
Why should we spend our days subconsciously inventing ways to avoid that task set - and end up avoiding our success instead.
- Now we can get down to business.
- Now we can get down to life.
