Are We Barbarians?

Shakespeare: "He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature"

Are we so enmeshed in our own insulated world that we cannot see the truth others may present?

Yes - we are.

Just cruise through some blogs, mine included.

You will find opinion after opinion, presented as fact.

The opinion of a political party becomes the opinions of its followers, and is presented as fact. That is why political figures lie, they know it will be repeated as truth by their followers; if it is repeated enough it is treated as fact.

We can think for ourselves. - It will only hurt for a little while.

We know history has been modified by those who wrote it. We know history is being changed and rewritten today. How much more is reality being modified by those that control information?

We do not have to be barbarians.

The first step is to challenge what we are told by those we follow; rather than challenge those that oppose them.
